Five Filipino teleseryes that tackled surrogacy

Over the years, ABS-CBN and GMA-7 have been combining different twists and concepts in the telescopes they produce.

These include introducing extraordinary characters and describing various medical conditions.

Because of these concepts, typical Philippine teleserye stories are given unusual twists that add a unique flavor to their stories.

One of the most commonly used trends today is alternative use. In this situation, a woman agrees to get pregnant and give birth to someone else or a couple.

In a telescope, this usually happens when a couple cannot conceive and they decide to use assisted reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization.

Currently, five telescopes have been produced to address the concept of replacement.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists these Philippine observatories and how they use substitution as an important plot for their plot.

KUNG AAGAWIN MO ANG LANGIT
September 2011 to February 2012, GMA-7

Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit, an afternoon drama broadcast in GMA-7, Carla Abellana, Michelle Madrigal and Mike Tan.

It was the first teleserye to introduce the concept of substitution.

The series dealt with the story of Ellery (Carla) and Jonas (Mike), a couple without children. Ellery asked her cousin and her best friend, Bridgitte (Michelle), to become a surrogate mother and bring their children. Ellery did not know that Bridgitte and Jonas had a past relationship, after having a one-night stand.

On the night Bridgitte gave birth, Ellery had an accident and went into a coma. When Ellery did not wake up from a coma after many years, Bridgitte urged Jonas to marry Ellery for his inability to do the task. Thinking that Ellery would not wake up any more, Jonas and Bridgitte decided to get married.

The conflict began when Ellery woke up from a coma seven years later. She found out that her cousin and her husband were married. To make matters worse, Ellery's son only admits Bridgitte is her real mother.

Eventually, Ellery was able to regain her family and Bridgitte repented of her sin before she died of breast cancer.

Mike Tan's character was supposed to be played by Paulo Avelino, but then decided to switch to ABS-CBN.

Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit is broadcast internationally in three countries: Vietnam (via TodayTV VTC7 and SNTV SCTV6), Malaysia (via Astro Bella) and the United States (Kiku TV).

Ina Kapatid Anak tells the story of Teresa (Cherry Pie Picache), who agrees to become a surrogate mother for her sisters Beatrice (Janice de Belen) and Julio (Ariel Rivera). Despite Teresa and Beatrice's close relationship, Beatrice is always jealous of Teresa, because Teresa and Julio are best friends, and because Teresa likes him.

Once, Beatrice caught Julio helping a pregnant Teresa, allowing them to get close. In response, Beatrice offended Teresa. Teresa was hurt by Beatrice's allegations and abandoned them while she was still carrying their child.

Years passed and Teresa gave birth to Celyn (Kim Chiu), without telling her who her biological parents were. On the other hand, Beatrice and Julio adopted Margaux (Maja Salvador).

Celyn and Margaux then cross paths when they become classmates. They have a beautiful friendship, until Margaux finds out that Celyn is in love with the stylist's boyfriend, Ethan (Enchong Dee). To make matters worse, it was revealed that Celyn was the long-lost daughter of Julio and Beatrice.

It was also revealed later in the story that Teresa actually gave birth to twins and Margaux was another child.

The story ends with Celyn and Margaux, as well as Beatrice and Teresa patching everything up.

Ina Kapatid Anak's original cast includes Andi Eigenmann and Jessy Mendiola in the lead roles, with the show being broadcast on the afternoon block of the Kapiliaa network.

However, various projects were assigned to Andi and Jessy, and the film was given to Kim and Maja, and aired during the main time block.

Halfway through it, the main stars Kim and Maja were embroiled in a controversy when a confrontation scene between them was said to be too genuine and intense. This is where Gerald Anderson, Kim's ex-boyfriend, became Maja's real-life boyfriend.

It was all good now that Kim and Maja were able to rekindle their friendship.

Ina Kapatid Anak, broadcast for 8 months, is considered one of ABS-CBN's top-rated TV shows during its release.
